Klagenfurt on Lake Wörthersee (Celovec ob Vrbskem jezeru) (www.visitklagenfurt.at) is the capital city of the Province of Carinthia. It is located at an altitude of 450m between the Karawanken mountains and Lake Wörthersee in close proximity to Italy and Slovenia.

The Congress venue is barrier-free.
A free childcare service is offered at the fair grounds (foyer, 1st floor).
The venue is conveniently located and can be reached easily by rail, bus, bicycle and e-vehicles as well as on foot. For the benefit of our climate, these forms of transport are recommended for your journey to and from the Congress and will be rewarded (see Registration).
Climate-friendly journeys to and from the Congress by rail, bus, car-sharing, bicycle, on foot or by car-pooling will be rewarded.
Congress guests may use rental bikes. Bicycle parking is possible at the main entrance of the Congress venue.
Klagenfurt is located at the intersection of the southern rail route (Vienna – Rome) and the Tauern axis (towards Germany, Switzerland and Slovenia). For train schedules of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) see http://www.oebb.at/
The Congress venue is located 500m from the main railway station and can be reached on foot in a few minutes.
The bus stop at the main entrance of the fair grounds is the bus stop Messe Ost and is served by the bus lines 60 and 85. For timetables visit: Verbundlinie.at
Accommodation is available within the city at a max. distance of 5 km from the Congress venue, from where they can be reached by bus, by bicycle or on foot.
For paying Congress participants, the Congress fee includes the tickets for the city’s bus lines on 16 and 17 Sept.
The evening reception will be hosted on the outskirts of Klagenfurt at Maria Loretto Castle. The distance between the city centre and the Castle is some 5 km and it will be covered by e-bus shuttle and by e-boat.

Travel information for Carinthia’s population
The following arrangements have been made between the “Autumn Fair” and the transport association “Verkehrsverbund”: For a ticket price of € 16.00 per person (which includes a day ticket for one adult) , visitors may travel to the Fair from any place in Carinthia and back Holders of a “Vorteilscard” (e.g. senior citizens) pay € 9.00. The price for the package ticket within Klagenfurt is € 7.00 (€ 4.00 for discount card holders). The combi-ticket can be bought directly from the bus driver or at the railway station, as the case may be.
If you cannot avoid travelling by car or by plane, you can make up for the CO2 emissions by making a compensation payment. Tools for CO2 emission compensation at events are offered e.g. by:
