Role:

The City of Klagenfurt on Lake Wörthersee has been entrusted with the overall coordination of the CEMOBIL project. Furthermore, Klagenfurt undertakes to purchase E-vehicles to be tested by the population, public institutions, driving schools and taxi companies. The Carinthia University of applied sciences (CUAS) is an educational institution for applied research with international focus. Role:

In the framework of CEMOBIL, FGM supports the City of Klagenfurt in the organisation of E-vehicle races with public participation (races battery-electric go karts) particularly by contributing their expertise in the choice of vehicles, power supply, etc. and in soliciting media coverage. FMG has defined the corporate design of the project and implemented it on the website. Moreover, FGM will be responsible for designing and writing – together with the project partners – the project newsletter and for its electronic dissemination. FMG will support the City of Klagenfurt in preparing brochures and the Laymen’s Report. Moreover, FMG-AMOR will use its network at EU level – being in charge of promoting the CIVITAS initiative of DG-TREN as well as through its involvement in other projects in FP7, ETZ (Alpine Space, Crossborder) – to build up a European platform which will push innovative policies to reduce transport-related air pollution in European towns and cities, with a special emphasis being placed on E-mobility. At a national level, FGM will organise workshops, which will make active use of the results of the CEMOBIL demonstrators to facilitate work for the stakeholders and to promote E-mobility. FGM will invite potential interested successors to visit the demonstrators and analyse their feedback. Furthermore, FMG will work out an implementation document for potential successors to allow them to implement E-mobility in their cities/municipalities, too, without unnecessary work and time lost and unproductive iterations.

The Institute for Technology and Alternative Mobility (IAM) operates under the Brand Name “Lebensland Kärnten” and is the first address in questions of eMobility and related technologies of renewable energy and energy efficiency in Carinthia.

IAM distributes a range of his own designed and patented eCharging stations. The product catalogue can be seen or downloaded on http://lebensland.com/en/charging-points. Approximately 300 charging points for eVehicles are installed under the brand name Lebensland Kärnten in Carinthia since last 3 years.

The marketing, information and dissemination of eMobility have been performed by running the www.lebensland.com, performing local events, congresses (www.newmobilityforum.com) and the biggest eMobillity Fair in Austria.

The IAM offers and runs a test driver program with his own eVehicle fleet. Testimonials will be published on www.lebensland.com. The first survey on eMobility in Carinthia based on the Lebensland Kärnten test driver program has been finished in autumn 2010.

The IAM Team owns known how in business modelling for eMobility and renewables enabling investment in one of the biggest Austrian photo voltaic plant built in Carinthia. As a Body of Public Authority of The Region Carinthia, IAM assists and reports to the Regional Government. In addition IAM’s owner has executive grants in regard of regional and federal laws. The IAM manages funds for supporting of incentive programs for renewable energy and sustainable transport.

The Staff of IAM narrow collaborates with the Office of the Regional Government of Carinthia, Department 7 – Competence Centre for Economic Law and Infrastructure what enables a use of long lasting experiences and competences of in the fields of management of infrastructural projects, road constructions/approvals, international trade affairs (EU), construction methods, environmental impact assessment, transport planning, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), road safety and railway construction procedures.

The IAM is a also partner in INTERREG IVC Project  Cooperation 2 Foster Renewables for Energy Efficiency (CO2FREE), http://www.co2free-project.eu/, a capitalisation project that enables the participating regions to become more efficient in the use of energy through exchange of good practices exemplifying the use of ICT applications for increased energy efficiency and lower CO2 emissions. Description:

The LIFE programme is the EU’s funding instrument for the environment. The general objective of LIFE is to contribute to the implementation, updating and development of EU environmental policy and legislation by co-financing pilot or demonstration projects with European added value.
LIFE began in 1992 and to date there have been three complete phases of the programme (LIFE I: 1992-1995, LIFE II: 1996-1999 and LIFE III: 2000-2006). During this period (LIFE+ 2007 – 2013), LIFE has co-financed some 3104 projects across the EU, contributing approximately €2.2 billion to the protection of the environment.
